At least a dozen people were injured, including five policemen, when Maoist cadres clashed with the police in Ghorahi, Dang district, Wednesday afternoon.
Police resorted to baton-charging after the Maoist cadres pelted stones and tried to set fire on the Land Revenue Office. They also destroyed furniture and documents in the office, according to reports.
Nearly two dozen Maoist cadres were arrested during the incident.
The Maoists were returning from the District Administration Office after submitting a memorandum to the chief district officer.
