At least 70 houses were gutted in fire in Saptari and Udaypur districts Thursday afternoon.

61 houses were completely destroyed when fire broke out in Rampura Malhaniya-6 in Saptari district in afternoon. The fire that started from a house soon engulfed the entire village, reports said. Property worth 60 million rupees got destroyed in the fire, according to police.

Fire brigade vehicles from Rajbiraj Municipality had doused the fire after four hours.

Similarly, 10 houses were gutted in fire in Bhimphedi village in Rampur Thoxila VDC of Udaypur district this afternoon.

There were no reports of human casualties in both incidents.
