NTSC survives BBC scare; RCT blanks Boudha FC

Nabil Three Star Club (NTSC) survived a scare from Brigade Boys Club (BBC) by beating it 2-1 while Rani Pokhari Corner Team (RCT) blanked out Boudha FC by 3-0 in the ANFA Martyrs Memorial League Football Tournament played today at the Dasrath Stadium.

BBC surprised NTSC and took the lead in the 5th minute through unmarked Nigerian import Obabgbemiro Junior. The goal woke up NTSC and they finally managed to level the score in the 36th minute through mid fielder Bijaya Gurung after squandering at least three breathtaking attempts.

After the re-start, NTSC pressed their front line and was rewarded in the 56th minute through Prabesh Katuwal. Katuwal scored his second goal in the league utilizing the corner off Vishan Gauchan.

Obagbemiro could have leveled the score in the 67th minutes but his brilliant long-range shot was saved superbly by experienced goalie Upendra Man Singh.

With the win, NTSC stepped up to the top of the table top with 27 points, but MMC has one game in on hand.

Earlier, RCT blanked out Boudha FC 3-0 with excellent play from Rishi Rai and Rajan Gauchan. Rishi Rai struck twice while Rajan Gauchan added another.

RCT scored the opener through Rishi Rai in the 31st minute in a solo effort. Rai’s long range shot completely fooled the goalkeeper. Then Rajan Gauchan doubled the tally in the 44th minute capitalizing the cross off Rishi Rai.

The rout was complete when Rishi Rai scoring in the 84th minute.
