Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has launched a new promotion campaign ‘Naturally Nepal – Once Is Not Enough’, amongst the tour operators and the media in western India from 28th March to 4th April 2007.

A press release issued by the NTB said as part of the campaign strategy, the NTB undertook an extensive road show covering Indian cities Mumbai, Ahemdabad, Vadodara, Nagpur and Pune.

The road show especially highlighted new packages now offered by travel agents under the category of ‘weekend breaks’.

“Nepal would proactively engage all the stakeholders in Nepal tourism industry to welcome more and more Indian tourists. This would include the easing of travel by road, reducing hassles at the border checkpoints, allowing Indian registered vehicles to enter freely, convincing the Nepal Airlines to start flights from western India, among other initiatives,” Janma Jaya Regmi, Under Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA).

Regmi also informed the present about the launch of Visit “Pokhara Year-2007” as an joint initiative of MoCTCA, Nepal Tourism Board and Pokhara Tourism Council to promote Pokhara as a most serene & relaxing destination in Nepal.

On the occasion of Visit Pokhara Year 2007, the promotional schemes like “PAY FOR TWO NIGHTS & STAY FOR THREE NIGHTS” and “Visit Pokhara & get casino coupons FREE” were made available to Indian visitors.

The Road show received tremendous response both from tour operators and media, the NTB added.
