Delayed by a day, the leaders of the Congress-affiliated student body Nepal Students Union (NSU) managed to sort out problems regarding the names of representatives on Thursday afternoon.

After the problems have been sorted out, process for electing new leadership has begun in Chitwan where the Tenth convention of NSU is underway.

According to reports, the final list of convention representatives has been published few hours ago on consensus.

They also agreed to start voting process shortening the closed-door session, which had remained disrupted for the last two days.

Six candidates have announced their candidacy for president including Pradip Poudel, Badri Pandey, Basu Koirala and Srijana Adhikari. Influential leader Gagan Thapa has extended support to Poudel. He himself has decided not to stand in the electoral fray.

Likewise, 90 nominations have been filed for the election of 28 central committee members.
