Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP) Wednesday asked the government to give emergency relief to the people of the  terai districts affected by a cold wave that has killed  more than 70 persons in nearly one month and severely affected winter crops.

The NSP is a national party with al regional base in the terai. The cold wave is considered the worst in nearly three decades. The Home Ministry still does not have exact casualty figures from the cold wave that hit south Nepal one month ago.

The cold wave has also affected livestock farming in the region.
