NRN UK has first public gathering in London

The NRN-NCC, UK organised its first public gathering in London on the August 7, a statement said.

The gathering was organised in two phases with an interaction program as the first phase. Over forty different local Nepalese organisations and distinguished individuals participated in the first phase, the release said.

Issues like the global nature of the NRN movement, the pivotal role that Nepalese expatriates can play for the socio-economic development of Nepal, the need to foster unity amongst Nepalese and enlisting the Nepali community amongst the ‘ethnic minority’ communities of the UK, among others were discussed.

The second phase of the programme started with a minutes’ silence in remembrance of the victims of the July London bomb blast. The objective of the second phase was to officially inaugurate the launching of NRN-NCC, UK and publicize its vision and missions across the Nepali community.

Over 300 guests including the Royal Nepalese Ambassador to UK, Prabal SJB Rana; Member of Parliament from Ealing, S Kavra, deputy mayor of Ealing, R Mann, NRN-ICC president Dr Mahato and other international delegates and distinguished Nepalese were present, the statement said.
