Nepalgunj: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has made arrangements for distributing only needed quantities of kerosene to its local dealers in order to prevent any smuggling of the fuel.

Consumers here are complaining of a shortage of kerosene in the market.

Although the price of kerosene specified by the corporation is Rs 13 per litre, many shops are selling at Rs 14.

The control measures have been implemented to discourage smuggling as kerosene costs more across the border in India. The Oil Corporation has some eight or l0 dealers here and supplies up to 900,000 literes of kerosene a month to Dang, Banke and Bardiya districts.
