Noble Academy hammers J&K in its first match of Subroto Cup

Chetan Ghimire scored five goals and his team also danced in goals as Noble Academy, with players that play in the national U-17 team, hammered Jammu & Kashmir 14-1 in its first match in the 46th Subroto Mokherjee All-India Inter School tournament at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi, India.

Chetan Ghimire struck five goals alone while Ranjit Shrestha and Prabin Karki scored hat tricks each while Bharat Khawas, Pukar Gahatraj and Roshan Karfki scored a piece to rip off the fragile rivals. However, J&K team pulled back one to save their face.

Coach Diken Suwal was happy to see superb performance from his boys. “Though they are tired, they performed well.” The prestigious tournament has more than 40 schools from India and some international teams from Nepal, Afghanistan and Bangladesh participating.

Sankata Club, which has hired the same set for one year, has given permission to participate in the tournament as they are playing under the name of Noble Academy where those students’ are studying.

On Monday, Noble Academy will take on Tamil Nadu in its second league match while it will clash against Manipur in its last league match on Tuesday.
