No transfer for local body staff: Wagle

Kathmandu, Mar. 14: Minister for Local Development Chiranjibi Wagle has made it clear that as the service terms and conditions for employees working at local bodies under the development sector are governed by the Local Bodies Autonomy Act, there is no provision for transfering such employees to the general sector.

Minister Wagle was furnishing replies during question-answer time at today’s meeting of the house of representatives.

His Majesty’s Government is selecting and implementingdistrict projects in keeping with needs at local level in terms ofincome and employment generation, he said adding such projects will also be refined as per need.

He further said that it is the responsibility of the government to complete  on-going programmes carried out under the remote areas development committee and sort out technical problems that surface during implementation.

He informed the House of the provisions for the alteration of vdc, municipality and ilaka boundaries at the recommendation of the DDC as per the Local Autonomy Act, 2055if a two thirds majority of the local bodies concerned feels the need for suchalterations.
