The government Monday gave the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) 15 more Himalayan peaks to market amongst climbers seeking to scale medium-sized peaks in the Kingdom, sources close to NMA said.
The peaks are: Cholatse 6440 m, Machermo 6273 m, Kyazo Ri 6186 m, Nirekha 6159 m, Langshisa Ri 6427 m, Ombigaichen 6340 m, Bokta 6143 m, Chekigo 6257 m, Lobuje West 6145 m, Larkya Peak 6010 m, Abi 6097 m, Yubra Himal 6035 m, Chhukung Ri 5550 m and Yala Peak 5732 m.
The NMA was collecting Rs.20 million in convertible currency every year by selling 18 other peaks to trekkers. The Ministry of Tourism was previously selling Cholatse.
