Nine Maoists surrender in Nuwakot, Dolpa

Six Maoists in Nuwakot and three in Dolpa districts have surrendered voicing their disagreement with the Maoist activities, RSS said Thursday.

According to the agency, six woman activists of the Maoists’ student wing – ANNISU (R) have surrendered at the district police office in Nuwakot Wednesday.

Likewise, three Maoist activists who surrendered in Dolpa district recently included Tilak Gautam from Godam VDC, and Janak Budha and Dhanjeet Karki from Majhpal VDC, the agency said.

In an announcement a few weeks ago, the government had offered amnesty to those who surrender by February 12, 2004.
