NIDC in dire straits

Kathmandu, June 15: A programme was organized to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Nepal Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) here today.

As of the end of 2056 B.S., NIDC has invested about Rs. 5.5 billion in some 1,500 big and small projects.

At the programme, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ramkrishna Tamrakar said despite the autonomy it is enjoying, NIDC is in a miserable condition.

He called on the NIDC employees to work with a sense of moral responsibility to rejuvenate the corporation.

Minister Tamrakar presented letters of commendation and certificates to 15 employees completing 25 years of service and for best performance.

NIDC general manager Uttam Narayan Shrestha and employees union president Buddhi Prasad Sedhai also spoke about the future programmes and problems of the corporation.
