Under the forth phase of appointments to the local bodies, the government has nominated chairmen and vice chairmen in 14 District Development Committees (DDCs), an announcement said Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Local Development, the nominations have been made in Panchthar, Udaypur, Mahottari, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Makwanpur, Bara, Dang, Tanahun, Sunsari, Manang, Kaski, Kalikot and Dolpa districts.

Most of the new appointees are from the ruling Rastriya Prajatantra Party. This is the first lot of nominations to the DDCs. The government has already appointed mayors and their deputies in all municipalities excluding Mahendranagar.
