Spice Nepal Private Limited (SNPL)- the first private company to operate mobile service in Nepal- successfully soft launched its services in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the SNPL said.
“We are pleased to inform you that most elements of our GSM network have been installed,” SNPL said in a public notice issued Tuesday. Following the soft launch, the company has said it would ‘soon’ launch its services in the market under the name ‘Mero Mobile’.
Secretary of Ministry of Information and Communication Lok Man Singh Karki and chairman of Nepal Telecommunication Authority Suresh Kumar Pudasaini introduced the service by talking to each other over the SNPL’s new service, reports said.
A joint venture of Nepali and Russian entrepreneurs, the SNPL has been given access code beginning from 9801.
