Nepse declines by 6.18 points

The index of Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) registered a fall of 6.18 points over the week with its index falling to 523.63 points from 529.81 points.

According to the Stock Exchange, a total of 227,295 units of shares worth Rs 99.7 million were traded over the week as compared to 309,034 shares worth Rs 160.3 million in the previous week.

The index of commercial banks group that dominates the Nepse floor posted a whopping fall of 10.63 points to 581.52 points from 592.15 points.

The indices of insurance, finance and development banks groups decreased by 3.88 points, 1.19 points and 5.33 points respectively to end at 539.94 points, 392.02 points and 534.53 points respectively.

Similarly, the index of the others group declined to 667.38 points from 668.13 points.

However, the statistics of manufacturing and trading groups remained static at 322.36 points and 148.51 points respectively.

The index of hotels group, which is the sole gainer of the week, rose marginally by 0.77 points to reach 191.02 points.

Of the total transactions, the commercial banks group continued to dominate the Nepse floor and accounted for 57.64 percent of the total transaction. Finance group accounted for 27.51 percent. Insurance group took 3.14 percent while the development banks group made up 9.87 percent of the share.
