Kathmandu, June 24: Royal Nepalese Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China Rajeswar Acharya attended a function held in Beijing to mark the 25th anniversary of China International Radio’s (CIR) Nepali Service.
On the occasion, Mr. Acharya said that China International Radio’s Nepali Service has played a significant role in furthering the friendly relations and amity between China and Nepal and forging goodwill and understanding at the people’s level.
Director of China International Radio, an ex-ambassador to Nepal and the Nepali service director also addressed the function attended by officials of the Royal Nepalese Embassy, Beijing, officials of Chinese Radio, Chinese dignitaries associated with Nepal one way or the other and Nepalese residing in Beijing.
During the function, two representatives of the radio audience in Nepal presented various gifts to the Nepali Service Department and said that the Nepali programmes aired by Chinese radio are popular among the Nepalese audience.
