Nepalese Human Rights advocates form NUF

A group of Nepalese human rights advocates in New York have formed “Nepal – USA Forum of Youth for Human Rights” (NUF) with the aim of educating Nepali people in US on their rights, to ensure their dignity, freedom, and prosperity.

A press statement issued by the NUF said journalist Krishna Prasad Acharya, with human rights experience in Nepal, has been elected as the president of the organization and Deepak Raj Kafle as vice president.

Similarly, Shyam Raj Rijal and Arjun Karki have been selected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Youth for Human Rights will form an international network based on educating people about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Acharya said that NUF will educate Nepalese in the US on the Universal Declaration, and also focus on specific rights, including an upcoming seminar on the rights of Nepalese under US labor and tax laws.
