General secretary of CPN-UML and main opposition leader Madhav Kumar Nepal warned of both ultra-leftist and rightist deviation in the Nepalese communist movement.

Addressing an orientation programme for CPN-UML workers in Pokhara Wednesday, Madhav Kumar said that the Nepalese communist movement was suffering from ultra-leftist and rightist deviation and asked his workers to remain alert against such deviations. He described the on going Maoist insurgency and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) as an extreme leftist deviation.

He also did not spare to criticize some leaders but did not name anyone. Mr. Nepal said that CPN-UML was also facing a problem of rightist deviation. According to him both trends have posed a serious threat to Nepalese communist movement. He also asked all communist parties to forge a working unity.
