Nepal Media Society was formed Tuesday under the leadership of chief editor cum publisher of Nepal Samacharpatra Pushkar Lal Shrestha, an announcement said. Representatives of Kantipur Publications that publishes the Kathmandu Post and Kantipur, Spacetime Daily and Rajdhani Dainik also attended the meeting.

An announcement said the Society was formed to protect interests of national daily newspapers. Representatives of the Gorkhapatra and The Rising Nepal did not attend the meeting.
