Newar communities formed a Nepal Mandal Forum, headed by Suresh Pradhan to lobby for the rights of the Newar people.

A press statement issued by the Forum said it is the fundamental rights of Newar community to lobby for autonomous region of Newars.

The forum further said that the Forum will lobby for the rights of Newar and to end discrimination existing since a long time.
