Nepal makes special presentation at ITB

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) made a special presentation on 9th March during the world’s leading trade show for the travel industry ITB held in Berlin, Germany, from 7 to 11 March 2007.

NTB along with other 15 private sector participants took part in the ITB.

A press release issued by the NTB said a total of 10,923 companies from 184 countries and territories represented their tourism attractions during the ITB.

World renowned climber Wolfgang Nairz made a special presentation on Nepal on the occasion, which was attended by more than 70 media and trade organisations.

Speaking on the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Madhav Prasad Ghimire, said, “Germany has always remained not only as a major donor and development partner of Nepal, but also a major tourist generating market.”

He further elaborated that peace had returned to Nepal after the popular movement ushered in a new democratic system for the benefit of larger section of the society.

Nepalese ambassador to Germany, Madan Kumar Bhattarai, also explained about the improved security situation in the changed context of Nepal.

NTB felicitated Nairz and Dil Gurung, Honorary PRR of NTB during the programme for their outstanding support and cooperation for tourism promotion in Nepal.
