Kathmandu Jan. 16 : Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Avi Nir called on president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Pradip Kumar Shrestha at the federation secretariat, recently.
On the occasion, welcoming ambassador Nir president Shrestha said the Nepali private sector is eager to move ahead by expanding long standing relations between Nepal and Israel.
He said the Israeli cooperation and joint investment will be very important for Nepal in the fields of hydro electricity, tourism, agriculture and stressed the need for direct air link between Nepal and Israel and for trade, economic cooperation, exchange of technology and information and promotion of bilateral cooperation.
Shrestha urged the ambassador to take initiative in this direction through economic diplomacy.
On the occasion, ambassador Nir said Israel has given much importance to the relations with Nepal and is effortful in expanding economic relations during his own tenure. He said as the Israelis are eager to work with the Nepali private sector he will make efforts as far as possible on his behalf.
First vice president of the Federation Rabi Bhakta Shrestha said the role of the diplomatic mission will be instrumental in the flow of Israeli investment.
Also present on the occasion were general secretary of the Federation Badri Prasad Ojha and Managing Director of the Agro Enterprises Centre (AEC) Devbhakta Shakya.
