The eighth meeting of the Nepal-India Power Exchange Committee (PEC) has kicked off in Kathmandu from Thursday.
During the two-day power meet, there would be discussions on the pacts that have so far been signed between Nepal and India regarding power exchange and the problems that have been arising from time to time, reports quoting Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) officials said.
Considered important for it is tipped to review all the achievements that have made in the power exchange field between the two countries till now, the meet started from 9 am in the morning at Hotel Yak & Yeti.
The meeting is set to finalise strategies of increasing power exchange between the two countries, expanding the transmission line and discuss the problems seen in Tanakpur barrage, among others, NEA officials said
According to reports, both the countries would present their respective agenda in the meet for further discussion
The Indian delegation is led by chief of Central Electricity Authority had arrived in Kathmandu yesterday to take part in the meet.
In the two-day meet the Nepali side would be led by NEA acting director Arjun Karki.
PEC was constituted in 1992 to promote exchange and sort out operational and commercial issues in power exchange between Nepal and India .
