KATHMANDU: Nepalese and Indian home secretaries are holding a meeting Monday here in Kathmandu to discuss matters related to management of borders and the extradition treaty. The meeting will last for two days.
Home secretary Ananta Raj Wagle leads the Nepalese team while the Indian team is led by Gopal Swami, secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, India.
Published reports Monday quoted Dr Madan Kumar Bhattrai, spokesperson, Foreign Ministry as saying that the meeting will basically focus on introducing some changes on the extradition treaty, exchange of information and cooperation to bolster security along the borders.
The Nepali side is also expected to request the Indian delegates to step up the drive against Nepali Maoists holed up in Indian parts.
