Nepal in Dhaka Tourism Mart

With the aim of promoting Nepali tourism products and establishing Nepal brand in Bangladesh, Nepal Tourism Board in association with the Embassy of Nepal, Dhaka is taking part in the Dhaka Tourism Mart-2007, which kicked off on April 26 in Dhaka amid a grand function inaugurated by the Secretary of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry of Bangladesh.

The Mart will run for three days from April 26 to 28, 2007 and is being participated by representatives from 11 countries.

“Nepal Tourism Board and the Embassy of Nepal are going to organise roadshows for travel trade writers, journalists, tour operators and corporate houses on April 29 in Dhaka, April 30 in Chittagong and May 2 in Sylhet respectively in order to introduce tourism potentials of Nepal,” states a press release.

There has been rapid increase of tourists from Bangladesh visiting Nepal In recent months. Bangladeshis are the second largest tourists visiting Nepal after India in South Asia , a recent finding suggests. As a country of 15 crore people experiencing rapid economic growth and rising middle class, Bangladesh could be a major market for Nepali tourism products, tourism officials say.
