Nepal evening program at Domotex fair

Nepal Carpet Exporters’ Association (NCEA) organized Nepal Evening at Fair Premises of Domotex Hannover Germany on January 14.

Ambassador of Nepal to Federal Republic of Germany Madan Kumar Bhattari conferred Letter of Appreciations to Manfred Barfuss of Ludwig Wissenbach Company of Germany, Selvi Moharrem of Selvi Halicilik of Turkey and to Rabin Shrestha representative of Odegard INC USA for having imported the largest volume of Nepalese hand knotted carpet in Germany, Turkey and USA respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Bhattarai said that the importers of Nepalese carpet were the goodwill ambassadors of Nepal abroad and that the Nepalese delegation abroad should collaborate with the business circle of the respective country and extend all possible support to them aimed at giving thrust to the export of Nepalese carpet worldwide.

On the occasion, the largest carpet importer from Germany Manfred Barfuss informed that last year he imported 60,000 sqmt of carpets from Nepal.

“If the situation in Nepal does not deteriorate, industrial peace prevails and Nepalese carpet exporters are ready to compete in price with Indian carpet, I will import the same quantity also this year,” he added.

The largest importer of Nepalese carpet from Turkey Selvi Moharrem demanded that there should be embassies of Nepal in Turkey and vice versa so as to boost the export of Nepalese carpet into Turkey.

Welcoming the guests in the Evening, NCEA President Kavindra Nath Thakur said that NCEA would continue participating in the fairs worldwide like before and keeps on organizing Nepal Evening to foster close relationship with the carpet importers.
