Nepal has been elected as a member of the UNESCO executive board for four years in the election held on Friday during the 33rd session of UNESCO General Conference in Paris, a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
India, Japan, Fiji and Kirgyzstan have also been elected from the Asian group. Nepal had lost last year’s election for the UNESCO seat, according to the ministry.
Nepal government has expressed sincere appreciation to all friendly countries for their support in the election.
