The 18th Nepal Day 2007 is set to begin in Bonn, Germany, on Saturday with the theme “New Nepal: New Chance for Nepal”.
Organised by the Germany Nepal Friendship Association (GNFA), the two-day event has been an annual affair since last 18 years. More than 200 participants, including representatives of NGOs and officials from all over Germany are participating in the event.
“It is a traditional and the biggest Nepal event held in Germany,” said Ram Pratap Thapa, president of GNFA. This Year the GNFA is also celebrating its 40th anniversary.
“This forum is a must for new and old Nepal lovers, where they come yearly together and discuss situations in Nepal very critical but friendly,” adds he.
During the programme, various experts will make presentations on topics ranging from education, migration, gender issue, music, nature conservation, mountaineering, traditional medicine and political situation in Nepal. Dr. Madan Kumar Bhattarai, Ambassador of Nepal to Germany, will deliver key note speech while Ani Choying Dolma will sing her famous numbers.
