Nepal beats Kuwait in U-15 Youth Asia Cup

Nepal beat Kuwait by seven wickets in the U-15 Youth Asia Cup Cricket Tournament in UAE Tuesday, reports from the Gulf said.

Kuwait batted first and scored 68 runs with the loss of all wickets. Nepal’s bowlers won the game by dismissing a formidable batting line for a lowly 68 in 25 overs. Deepak Shrestha, Paras Khadka and Irfan Siddique had impressive bowling figures of 3 for 19, 2 for 11 and 2 for 1 respectively.

Chasing another low target, Nepal strolled to the target for the loss of 3 wickets in 19.4 overs. Mahesh Chettri was the high scorer with 27 not out off 69 balls with 2 fours.  The match was played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. In Nepal’s first game of the tournament, it beat Singapore with ease having to chase a target of only 96 runs.

Nepal is in Group B along with Singapore, Kuwait, Malaysia and Qatar. Group A comprises of Oman, UAE, Maldives, Hong Kong and Thailand.
