Newang is affiliated with CPN (UML) and Yadav is a Nepali Congress (Democratic) MP. The UML had been demanding that Nemwang, a former law minister, should continue as the Speaker of the Interim Parliament.
A meeting of the Interim Parliament, to be chaired by senior MP Bal Bahadur Rai, this afternoon will approve their nominations.
A source meanwhile said the eight-party meeting also decided to give the post of senior Deputy Prime Minister to the Maoists in the upcoming interim cabinet.
Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara is all set to become ‘senior Deputy Prime Minister’ as the Maoists have already chosen him as the leader of the party in the interim cabinet. A formal announcement regarding this is yet to come.
