Speaker Subash Nemwang has urged business community to cooperate with the political parties, the interim parliament and the government in holding constituent assembly election in the scheduled time.

In his inaugural address to the 41st annual general assembly of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) in the capital on Sunday, Nemwang said also said the parties had felt the difficulties faced by the industrial sector due to the insurgency. “All those difficulties will be solved only after the main objective of the nation [constituent assembly] is achieved first.

He also assured that the House, which finally reconvened after a long disruption, would take up the issues raised by the industrial sector seriously.

Speaking on the occasion, president of the FNCCI Chandi Raj Dhakal asked the parties and the government to formulate special policy for revival of the wrecked industrial sector.

He said the upcoming budget of the government must focus on reconstruction, rehabilitation and reintegration and increasing private sector involvement in national economic activities.

At a time when debate for restructuring of the nation is going on, there is a need to revise the economic vision and policies of the state to suit the changing needs, he said. However, economic policies should not change with the change in government, he added.

The FNCCI general assembly will continue till Monday.
