Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced to further reduce the load shedding hours by eight hours beginning Wednesday.

According to the new schedule, Kathmandu Valley will face only four hours of power cuts a week – two hours in the evening twice. Last week, the NEA had fixed 12 hours of load shedding per week, reducing it by 16 hours.

Likewise, the load shedding in most of places outside Kathmandu Valley has been limited to four hours – two-hour power cut between 6 pm to 8 pm twice a week.

Earlier, the NEA had imposed 40 hrs of load shedding per week from February 16 this year. Later, the load shedding was reduced to 24 hours per week on March 22 owing considering the rise in water level in the reservoir of Kulekhani power plant.
