NC Vice President Koirala injured

Vice President of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, has been injured when the vehicle he was travelling in was hit by a vehicle belonging to the Nepali Army at Dhobidhara in Kathmandu on Friday morning.

According to Nepal FM, a leading private sector radio station, Koirala was injured when an army vehicle (with plate no. Ba 1 Jha 5595) hit and damaged the vehicle belonging to Prime Minister’s Secretariat this morning. Koirala, along with PM’s private secretary Diwaker Gautam, were heading towards the PM’s residence, Baluwatar, when the incident took place. Gautam was also injured in the incident.

Gautam returned home after primary treatment.

Traffic police have confiscated driving license of the Army driver who immediately fled from the scene without helping the injured. Koirala was later taken to the hospital in a taxi, according to the report.

Koirala is undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching hospital.

In the meantime, a press statement by the Nepali Army (NA) said that NA is investigating about the incident.
