Nepali Congress (NC) president Girija Prasad Koirala Wednesday accepted the resignation tendered by Sushil Koirala from his post as general secretary.
The NC central office in a statement said the president accepted Koirala’s resignation as part of the party’s constitution (2017 B.S). Immediately after the 11th general convention in Pokhara last month, the NC president had appointed Sushil and Ram Chandra Poudel as the general secretaries.
Koirala, who is said to be unhappy with the party president’s decision to appoint Poudel as general secretary, had tendered his resignation on September 17, a day after the appointment was announced.
He was NC’s general secretary prior to the 11th general convention.
