The general secretary of Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused the Nepali Congress and Maoists of ganging up against his party with the intention of cornering majority in their favour in the forthcoming CA polls.
“During the elections, NC and Maoists are plotting to use Home Ministry and Young Communist League (YCL), respectively, against UML in order to corner votes,” he said at a party programme in Biratnagar on Saturday.
He charged that NC was trying to use the force of Home Ministry (which covers police and armed police) and the Maoists were trying to use muscle power. He, however, added that UML would be able to face their conspiracy.
He accused the Maoists of turning to muscle power from gun power and the NC of trying to fight off UML against Maoists.
At the programme, Nepal reiterated that the CA polls must be held on stipulated time. He warned any move to postpone elections could result in a disaster for the whole country.
