Nepali Congress (NC) lawmakers have criticized party leadership for reaching into an agreement with the Maoists saying that it was done without proper consultation or homework.

Speaking at Monday’s meeting of the NC parliamentary party, they criticized the party leadership and demanded resignation of Home Minister Krishna Prasad Situala, alleging him of failing to work as advisor to the Prime Minister and working under the influence of the Maoists.
Sitaula is also the chief government negotiator.
They also expressed strong reservation over the provision of dissolving the parliament after adopting the interim constitution as stipulated in the eight-point agreement reached between the ruling Seven Party Alliance and the Maoists last month.
The meeting ended inconclusively after some NC legislators stuck with their demand of resignation of Home Minister Sitaula.
NC officials said the meeting will continue on Tuesday and that Home Minister Sitaula will respond to the queries by his fellow MPs.
