NC discusses strategy in House Session

Kathmandu, June 24: Nepali Congress parliamentary board met in Kathmandu  Sunday, and discussed the party’s strategy to be taken in the 20th session  of parliament that begins Monday.

The meeting decided to counter  opposition moves in the 20th session of parliament unitedly and
effectively. According to Benup Raj Prasai, despite differences in the  party all the  lawmakers have decided to counter the opposition in the House, with the party  issuing instructions to them.

In today’s meeting, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala briefed the  lawmakers of the party about the current political situation and problems of the party and the country. Prime Minister Koirala said that as democracy and nationalism are in  crisis, all political parties and people, who believe in multi-party  democracy and constitutional monarchy, to be united against the attempt to  weaken democracy.

Some lawmakers raised the issue of recently announced  Public Security Regulation. Deputy Prime Minister replying to the question  of the lawmakers, said the Regulation was brought about as per the  constitution to maintain law and order and create an atmosphere of peace and stability in the country.

The next meeting of the NC parliamentary party is to be held on June 18  Thursday. Meanwhile all opposition parties led by main opposition party  CPN-UML have decided to continue their struggle in the 20th session of  parliament demanding resignation of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
