An emergency meeting of Nepali Congress (Democratic) Thursday decided to withdraw the Nepal bundh scheduled for coming Tuesday to protest the Maoists’ assassination bid on its President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Nepal Student Union, the student wing of NC (D) had announced the one day strike. The meeting also urged the Maoists to reconsider their unilateral decision to call off the ceasefire, party sources said.
