At a time when the ruling seven party alliance and the Maoists are mulling to restructure the Nepali Army (NA) and integrate the Maoist People’s Liberation Army into the NA after the election of the constituent assembly, the NA is all set to fill its vacant positions immediately.

The Himalayan Times daily quoted a highly placed source at the Army Headquarters as saying that the NA is all set to fill its over 4000 vacant positions after receiving a go-ahead letter from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) Monday.

“We have received the letter from the MoD and are planning soon to place an advertisement for the recruitment of soldiers, non-combatants like followers and officers and clerical staffs in the technical field,” the source added.

The army plans to take aeronautical engineers, avionics engineers, photographers, paramedics including asthotics, prothotics, engineers, automobile and mechanical engineers, legal officers, civil engineers, veterinary doctors, dentists and medical doctors, the source added.
