Mahendra Police Club (MPC) defeated RCT to clinch a competitive 4-1 win while NRT outclassed Samsung JYC 1-0 in the day’s matches of the ongoing San Miguel “A” Division League Football Tournament here at Dashrath Stadium.

Ananta Thapa struck hat-trick while Ramesh Budathoki added another goal to provide MPC a sweet victory after coming back from a goal behind to follow league pace settler Tribhuwan Army Club who has 47 points in its kitty. Rishi Rai put RCT ahead in the 21st minute with his solo effort but Ananta Thapa canceled the lead in the 68th minute utilising the pass off skipper Hari Khadka.

Thapa extended the tally in the 73rd minute through a header capitalising the cross off Bhola Silwal. Ramesh Budathoki came forward with third goal scoring in the 81st minute when RCT defense line seemed hapless in front of relentless attack from the cops. Thapa completed his hat-trick in the injury time. With the win, MPC stays on second with 44 points, 3 points behind TAC.

In another match, Samsung JYC suffered 0-1 loss to NRT leaving huge pressure on coaching management. Bhutanese Passang Tsering netted the match winning goal in the 30th minute.
