Kakarbhitta, March 21: Wheat production in this part of Jhapa district is expected to increase this year than in the previous years on the basis of its area of cultivation.

This year, wheat was cultivated on more area than in past years, according to the District Agriculture Develop-ment Office, Jhapa.

Local farmers of Duwagadhi and Mechi Nagar areas expect a bumper harvest this time and the output is estimated to increase by 25 per cent to that of the previous year, thanks to improved irrigation facilities.

According to junior technical assistant Sudista Narayan Yadav, this year wheat covers more than 40 bigaha land.
