Initiatives have begun for the unity of the Nepal Communist Party UML and Nepal Communist Party ML. The catalyst for such initiatives has been the ruling party’s suppression, corruption, immoral activities and other mis-conduct. Both the parties have said the misdeeds of the ruling party has reached its limit.

It is considered that the Nepali Congress won the majority only because of the split of the UML. And now it has become uncontrollable. It is supposed that there would be no future for the communist parties in Nepal if these two remain divided. However, there still are differences between two parties.
