Minibuses Increase Fare

Kathmandu, Oct.18: Minibuses plying inside Kathmandu valley increased  fares by 25 percent Tuesday following a 17 to 100 percent in the prices of petroleum products, transporters said.

The transporters decided to increase fares after a meeting of the Nepal National Minubus Transport Entrepreneurs Federation. Government hiked the price of diesel by 20 percent.

The Federation asked  the government to rescind its decision to increase prices of POL products if old rates are to be maintained. Opposition and businesses have criticized the government for the massive price hikes saying it will have an inflationary impact. nepalnews.com br
