An unidentified gang in Sonapur in the eastern district of Sunsari hurled a socket bomb at a microbus, which was carrying six journalists on Sunday.

The journalists were heading towards Machhindra Nath school in Kerabari of the same district where Foreign Minister Sahana Pradhan was scheduled to address a meeting.

The attack came on the second day of the Terai bandh called by the Madhesi Tigers, an unidentified rebellion group. However, there was no human casualty in the incident as the bomb didn’t hit the van.

Reports said two persons traveling on a motorbike hurled the bomb at the microbus.
The microbus was carrying journalists Bishnu Pokhrel, Saraswoti Karki, Uddhav Ghimire, Gokul Parajuli, Dhruv Rijal and Chuman Basnet.
