Memorial function for late Koirala

Mahottari: The martyr Keshav Koirala Memorial Academy organised a memorial function at Matihani the spot of martyrdom of the late martyr to mark the 25th death anniversary of late Koirala.

At the function ex-MP Hari Shankar Mishra said the democracy that has been restored with the sacrifice of the martyrs should be made stronger and that the prime responsibility of the government is to eliminate corruption that that has been rampant in the country.

Chairman of the Janakpur Greater Area Development Committee Narendra Mishra said the martyrs who fought for the rights of the country and the people are the heritage of the nation.

Member of the CPN-UML zonal coordination committee Ganesh Nepali said the democracy can be strengthened only we are ready to eliminate corruption which has increased in the country.

President of Mahottari district Federation of Nepalese Journalists Ram Kumar Mandal said the nation should honour the martyrs who fought for democracy.

Ex DDC chairman Kameshwor Pandey said the people should be provided guarantee of development and security inorder to move the country ahead.

NC regional president Hari Narayan Yadav said the person who attains martyrdom will always be remembered by the people.

At the function presided over by acting president of the martyr Koirala Memorial Academy and VDC chairman Jaya Kumar Chaudhari, various other speakers including NC youth leader Shyam Sundar Prasad Saha, NSU ex-central member Bajarang Nepali, VDC vice chairman Upendra Chaudhari, Dhruba Raya, Amirilal Mandal, free students union president Birendra Kapad and the representatives of NC, CPN-UML and Sadbhawana Party shed light on the late Koirala’s contribution and paid tribute to the late Koirala.
