The visiting international advocacy mission for press freedom in Nepal held meeting with High Level Media Commission (HLMC) on Tuesday to discuss issue of changes in media policies.
According to a press statement by Federation of the Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), which is coordinating the mission, the Nepalis and international media experts discussed on the reformation of policies related to media that guarantee the press freedom here.
The commission had urged the delegates to share the media experiences and practices in other countries and the provisions to guarantee press freedom in media laws of those countries.
The experts also discussed possibility of privatising government media, code of conduct for broadcast media, foreign investment in Nepali media and cross media ownership among others.
The international delegates shared and suggested their international experiences and standards to the commission.
