Maoist’s Spokesman and senior leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has said that his party was ready to accept monarchy if the King was ready to leave the leadership in the army, Rajdhani and Kantipur dailies reported Friday.
Mahara said this to the press at Jungathapa Chaur in Jajarkot district Monday. Noteworthy, the King holds the supreme post in the Royal Nepal Army.
Moreover Mahara said,” The King must be ready to sack some 200 army officers loyal to him and come under the constitution.”
He also revealed the Maoist was ready for talks. “But the government must be clear on its agenda regarding the talks,” he said adding, “We have 80 percent of the total territory in Nepal under us, and are making strategies to capture the remaining 20 percent.”
Mahara said, “Our party is ready to work together for the peaceful solution of the present conflict if the old regime comes with progressive proposals addressing the destitute people of Nepal.”
He, however, said the government was not ready to solve the existing problems.
