Maoists shot dead a head constable of the Armed Police Force (APF) Monday at Kakarbhita of Jhapa district Monday, reports said.
The head constable was part of a revenue patrol team that was attacked by the Maoists. Two security personnel and a civilian were also injured in the incident.
The APF head constable Prem Khadka was shot at his neck and died on the way to the hospital, while constables Niranjivi Regmi and Gayan Timilsina were injured. The civilian injured in the incident was Khadka’s younger brother.
According to eyewitnesses, five armed Maoists, riding on two motorbikes shot at revenue patrol team, on the bank of the Mechi river Monday at 12:45 p.m.
