Maoists Monday afternoon robbed over Rs. 1.1 million from a bank and an NEA counter in Pokhara and Itahari respectively, radio reports said.
In Pokhara, armed Maoists came in a van, took control of the guards and staf, and looted Rs.450,000 from an outlet of Rastriya Banijya Bank. The bank was situated inside the Pokhara Industrial District, reports said.
Police have recovered the van used in the robbery in the city, but the culprits are still at large, the reports added.
Meanwhile, reports from Itahari said two Maoists looted Rs.700,000 from the customer counter of the Nepal Electricity Authority in the city at gunpoint. The two Maoists fled the scene immediately after the incident, the reports said. nepalnews.com mr Jan 12
